EVERY CARD PAYMENT HELPS

Help us train canine companions for the blind

We believe in a world where the more fortunate help those who were not so lucky in life. We have therefore joined forces with the Mathilda Endowment Fund and cooperate on training guide dogs, reliable partners to the blind.

The cost of training a guide dog ranges from CZK 250,000 to CZK 300,000. The government only reimburses a part of this amount and solely upon successful completion of training. That's why we decided to get things moving and, thanks to the support of our clients last year, we managed to collect a whooping 1.6 million Czech crowns.

If you spend CZK 15,000 a month with your card, you will be donating CZK 15. Does it sound like too little? You will not be the only ones doing their part. The more people join, the greater the chance that we will manage to secure training of more dogs that will change someone’s life.

  • Are you aware of just how much care a good guide dog requires?

The journey from a furry ball of joy to a real support for the blind starts with delivery and care for puppies.

The period of socialisation of young dogs from their eighth week of life to their first year is most crucial.

Next follows a 6‑8 month period of training in the field, trainer costs, dog handover and their familiarisation with the client – this is the stage that is financed by the state.

Every fourth dog gets excluded from the training, which means the cost o their training is not funded by the state.

  • What else should you know?

You can cancel or suspend the contribution at any time in ČSOB Smart.

We can also terminate the service at any time.

In order for the selected Endowment Fund to be able to fulfil its legal obligations regarding the registration of donors, we provide your following personal data: name and surname, date of birth, permanent residence and amount of contribution for the calendar year to your selected charity organisation. You will always receive confirmation of the contribution amount from the given charity organisation in January for tax purposes, typically in your Internet banking.
